“Lead the Adventure.” - The BSA Venturing motto

Leadership is the tool the Green Crew uses to plan and execute our adventures. As a Green Crew Leadership member, you will learn to lead the crew through the environmental adventures of your choice. Leadership in the Green Crew is more than a position— it is an action.

Even as you begin your Venturing experience, you learn leadership skills by observing crew officers and more experienced crew members as they lead the adventure.

The Green Crew leadership team are part of the BSA Venturing program

We use the BSA Venturing program trainings to support the development of the Green Crew leadership team.

Modeling and Mentoring are a significant portion of our leadership program

All Green Crew leadership team members have an opportunity to take the standard and advanced training.

The Green Crew will also have environmental-specific training, including from Leave No Trace.

Our goal is that every member of the Green Crew leadership team will have an opportunity to develop their leadership skills to plan effectively, organize, and mobilize their peers to execute impactful environmental projects — to lead the adventure!

Venturing training courses can take on many different forms; from peer-to-peer discussions to online classes to lessons gained while on outdoor adventures, the possibilities are endless. The resources below are just some of the many options that have been created to help you develop knowledgeable, trained youth and adults. Venturers made the PowerPoint presentations compiled below for Venturers. They are supplementary training used to enhance the program and are not required. They are simply here as a resource for you to build upon as you train your unit, committee, VOA, and more!
