Help us build the foundation for an outdoor classroom and a model sustainable campsite.
Sunday, May 22, 8:30-4:00
Green Crew Chapter House
6601 Auto Club Drive, Bloomington MN
The Green Crew has a big vision. That vision includes hosting groups to our home to learn about Leave No Trace, water quality, sustainable campaigns, fungi surveying, tree planting, pollinator habitat protection, and much more. To do this we need an outdoor classroom and a model sustainable campsite.
During this adventure, we will be contrasting a tent platform at the end of our “Northern Nature Trail” to be part of our “Leave No Trace” campsite. We will additionally be clearing the area for the outdoor classroom, installing a campfire ring, and moving benches for seating into the area.
Note: This project is being led by Adam, an Eagle Scout candidate from BSA Troop 695 with the support of the Green Crew and in association with the Izaak Walton League – MN Valley Chapter. The project supports the long-term site management plans of the Green Crew and has been designed and developed with the Support of the Green Crew’s science team to incorporate both the latest science and the Leave No Trace best practices.
This is a hard 5-hour adventure, and we would love for you to join us for either the morning session from 8:30am-11:30pm, the afternoon session from 1:00-3:00, or both. Please let us know on the RSVP form when to expect you!
