Welcome to Green Crew’s Policy Initiatives—a space where youth-led working groups tackle the systemic roots of environmental challenges through advocacy, policy, and strategic action. These groups move beyond traditional conservation service projects, focusing instead on shaping our roles and responsibilities to foster meaningful ecological change. Each working group meets monthly, bringing together passionate advocates committed to making a lasting impact in the policy-making world.
The TEK Working Group is committed to reintroducing Traditional Ecological Knowledge principles into Green Crew’s environmental ethic and conservation practices.
We are actively building a diverse team of advisors and elders to provide guidance and ensure authenticity in integrating ancestral wisdom with contemporary environmental conservation practices.
Going beyond the standard narratives around “Net Zero,” our Climate Restoration Group seeks bold solutions focused on restoring Earth’s climate balance.
Our members craft compelling presentations for schools and civic organizations, advocate for legislative actions, and promote the inclusion of Climate Restoration strategies in Minnesota’s Climate Strategic Roadmap. Help us advocate for a truly sustainable future!
The Lorax Project is loosely inspired by The Lorax, the iconic advocate created by Dr. Seuss. With the Lorax Project, we plan to explore how policies established upstream of the Minnesota River impact ecosystems downstream, particularly in the Lower Minnesota River. The goal is to take insights from water-quality monitoring and convert it into arguable, strategic advocacy to address the root causes of environmental stress.
Join us in speaking for the waters, the ecosystems, and the communities dependent on healthy rivers.
